    Ice Maker Issues…..Over and Over

    I bought this fridge in July 2015. Loved the overall look of the fridge, the versatility of the lower sections, and the amount of SF for a counter depth fridge. My parents had the same fridge in Florida and complained of ice maker problems to me. Just a few days later after that conversation and bragging that my fridge had no issues, my ice maker started having issues. We used all of the information online to remedy the ever freezing up ice maker. We did this for about a year and then thankfully, with the extended warranty I had purchased, in April 2019 we had the icemaker replaced. The technician told me it was a super common problem with Samsung. So I read a little more about it and thought my fridge would function fine for a few more years after he put in a whole new icemaker…… NOPE, my extended warranty ended July 21/20……. at the end of July/20, just a few weeks ago the icemaker magically stopped working AGAIN….this time freezing up all of the time AND producing a loud buzz from the fan every 6-8 seconds. Terribly annoying…..This fridge costs well over $4000 with an extended warranty. Never again purchasing SAMSUNG appliances especially after reading further into the issue……there is a class action lawsuit in the US claiming SAMSUNG has continued to sell these fridges knowing that the icemakers are an issue and never fixing the problem. So far it doesn’t look like Canadians can get in on the American lawsuit, but I’m going to explore more reading and options…..

    Definitely NOT spending $4-500 to replace the ice maker with no guarantee that they have fixed the problem…..very disappointed and not looking forward to spending $$$$ more to buy an new fridge. Step up SAMSUNG and fix the problem!

    Looks nice, But don’t expect ice.

    We purchased this unit because we loved the idea of the felx option. Little did we know that our beautiful fridge couldn’t make ice….as most of you and the internet are aware. My fridge from 1985 makes better ice and never stops making it! This is clearly a flawed design and Samsung unfortunately will not own up to it. My ice machine has build up all around the unit, it has leaked water down into my fridge, into the lower freezer section and now makes loud fan noises. I have been a Sumsung supporter for almost 10 years….Galaxy S3 up to my current S10, 3 Samsung tvs, 2 soundbars, 2 portable speakers….and unless you find your original receipt….YES ORIGINAL receipt from 3 years ago (who still has theses after 3 years?!) Samsung will NOT help you. They know about this problem with this unit, yet unfortunately don’t seem to care enough about their clients to help them. So unfortunate.

    Very poor product

    Ice maker has been problem since new, would not recommend to anybody. In fact I m so disappointed in this top of Samsung’s line that. I would not recommend any Samsung product

    Frustratedbuyer

    Piece Of Shoddy workmanship

    Just like everyone else our ice maker stopped working. Gets jammed up and won’t make ice. I have to thaw it out everyone few weeks. Why doesn’t Samsung quit responding with the same old BS reply and admit their ice maker doesn’t work and they don’t know how to fixe it

    Terrible ice maker

    We bought this 3 years ago. The ice maker needs to be defrosted every 4 to 6 weeks. Samsung repair personal recommendation is to defrost and reset the ice maker every 4 to 6 weeks. As a consumer I find it hard to understand that Samsung doesn’t make a product that works properly. My advice is buy another brand.

    Love Love Love it

    We bought this 9 months ago and love it. We have not had any issues at all with the workings of this fridge. Our only complaint is that the outside surface scratches easily and does show finger prints so you should not used magnets on it.
